It’s handy having hands

“You enter the exhibition through a giant hand. Photo, video, shadowplay: all illustrate different ways of looking at the hand.
Hand and action, sign language, giving signs, finger dexterity … What makes your thumb so handy?”
Your hands are unique and reveal who you are. You use your hands to make gestures that create meaning. In this way every culture tells its own story with hands. This exhibition is a visual exploration of the hand and how it is used.
